Community Collaboration helps build bridges of understanding and creates Peace.
jen roth and candace shepard

these two are instrumental in getting this project rolling. it was candace's vision, (candace is on the right), that saw a opportunity for creative community collaboration in the walls of a crumbling municipal wastewater tank and jen, well, jen, (on the left), has all the world in her heart and also facilitates the GAP Group.
Thank you Jen and Candace!

Tile Painting Workshops

During a handful of tile painting workshops offered in 2006 children, moms, dads, guys, and gals of all ages came to paint images on the tiles. The materials were simple unglazed, or bisqued, tiles, underglaze paint colors, and clear glaze. All the materials were provided. The tiles were then taken to the ART HUT, a facility of the Town of Lyons Parks Recreation and CULTURAL Department, where they were glaze fired to cone 04 in an electric kiln.
Pictures of birds are provided for inspiration but partipants are encouraged to paint whatever they want.
These beautiful photos were taken by Cathy Magnifico Powers
